eBay Photo Compliance Shooting Itself In The Foot

This post has to do with a recent new eBay Motors photo compliance rule that says a “cartoon or drawing” may not be used in substitute for a photo.

So here we have one of the old time eBay Motors Good Guys selling this NOS (new old stock) Ford factory stripe kit for an 1988-1989 Mercury Topaz (E86Y-5420000-AP.) In his listing he put a drawing showing where on the vehicle these stripes went.

“This makes a hell of a lot more sense than dumping the contents that are inside the box out and taking a picture of them. Which this good long time seller did and had 3 photos total. The drawing placement pictorial, a photo of the nos box, and another photo of the stripes laying on the floor next to the box.”

Well wouldn’t you know he posted in the eBay Motors forum that he has a non compliance strike for his listing with the pictorial placement guide. Unbelievable.

These Idiots that run this ePay toilet don’t have a clue. They run a bot through the database and chastise a good seller over nothing really.

Meanwhile I’m sure millions of cheap knockoff parts sellers are getting away scott free.

This is typical eBay mentality. Figure out a way to screw the little guy who is trying to make a buck on the site. Here is a link to the forum topic, though it’s uncertain how long it will be before it’s pulled.
